
Barbara Bacci Mirque, 56, beloved wife of Randall Mirque died Saturday (March 6, 2010) at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital, New York, NY, due to complications from ovarian cancer. Daughter of Julius E. and Joy (Cerreta) Bacci of Avon, she grew up in West Hartford. Barbara and Randall were married in 2000 and resided in Pearl River, NY. She received a B.S. in International Politics from Georgetown University and an MBA from NYU School of Business Administration and early in her career, she served on the staff of Senator S.I. Hayakawa. An outgoing and vivacious professional, Barbara worked as a product manager and brand marketer for Frito-Lay, Nestlé Foods, Avon, Weight Watchers and Carvel Corporations. In 2000, she joined the Association of National Advertisers as Senior VP of Communications and Best Practices, a position which suited her gregarious personality. In 2005, she was promoted to Executive VP and recently she was elevated to President of the Alliance for Family Entertainment, an entity of the ANA. Barbara and Randall spent most of their non-working time in the outdoors, hiking and sailing throughout the East Coast of the U.S. and the Caribbean Islands. Remaining time was spent traveling to Europe, Central and South America. Besides her husband and parents, Barbara leaves two step sons, Jason and Drew Mirque; brothers, Edward W. Bacci of Avon, CT, and Richard R. Bacci and his wife Michelle and nephew, Michael A. Bacci, of Old Lyme, CT; and numerous friends and colleagues.
